I consider myself loyal to all my ice cream places and brands, but Silky’s just really hits the spot sometimes (sorry Andy). To be honest, it’s all geographical. If I’m in Kirkwood, Andys is the go to- If I’m at home (Cottleville area), I go for Silky’s.
Silky’s has one of my favorite menus. It’s not too overwhelming, but it also has a lot of options.

I’m guilty of always getting the same thing. A small Elvis Pretzely milkshake. It’s not messy, I can drink it while I drive, and I have little pretzel bites waiting for me at the end. If I’m not driving and can eat it in the car, I get the Elvis Pretzely concrete. If you ask me, the only difference between the two is a straw and a spoon.
Silky’s custard is so heavy and smooth, it’s a very good meal replacement. I enjoy the Elvis Pretzely because you get the creamy custard with chocolate and caramel flavors and then those little pretzel surprises.
I should also mention that I had a friend on this outing! It was my mom… and the only reason she came was because I said I would buy hers. Now, I know my mother loves to hang out with me, but here’s how I know she went out of sympathy…

The woman got plain vanilla custard. Not even a single sprinkle on that sucker. I might as well of kidnapped her to go to Silky’s with me. I did, however, get some very useful reviews out of her.
“Good and smooth.”
“Tastes like frozen milk.”
And my personal favorite…
“I like Silky’s, I found $10 there.”
We walked up to the window and after I ordered, I turned to find my mother on the other side of the building picking up a $10 bill. She then ran over, ordered, and put the $10 in her pocket. It was in that moment that I felt like a grown ass adult.
Congrats on your $10, love ya ma.
